Dev Blog #42 is out now, where we touch on our 2023 roadmap Full update: https://galaxyfightclub.medium.com/dev-blog-42-916db4df479 SUMMARY: A) Game and Web 3 Development - For 2023 GFC will be building towards two new major features which is in line with two key directions we are trying to follow 1) Creating a truly fun to play play-to-own game 2) Creating a larger GFC ecosystem that give utility to existing resources - It is clear now that a game which ONLY relies on P2E to attract players is unsustainable. After all only playing the game for profits imply more selling than buying of assets, and with more assets being dumped, any game would go from profitable to play to unprofitable (e.g Axie) - As we have emphasized throughout the development of our game the main focus has never been creating a game that is profitable to play but rather creating a fun to play game, because this is the only sustainable way to retain players - So the important question goes back to: 'how can we continue to build out a game that is genuinely fun-to-play?' - We hear the community and recognise the issues with the current 3v3 P2E model that makes it feel 'unfun', it feels P2W and unbalanced with no real progression beyond a certain point, as well as certain reoccurring bugs that ruins the fun - Here is how we plan to solve these problems: 1. It feels too P2W and unbalanced We believe solving this requires a completely new mode, a mode where assets and characters roughly have the same stats so it feels balanced. A mode where the rewards or profitability cannot be the main reason for playing as not to attract the wrong type of players. We believe the up and coming Battle Royale mode could be this new game mode. 2. No real progression Our short term focus is still on Battle Royale, however we believe that expanding the GFC ecosystem with new games or mini-games (with ties to land) that can create new utility or demand for existing resources from the GFC ecosystem is also key. our Dev Blog #41 is now out Full update: https://galaxyfightclub.medium.com/dev-blog-41-5b9c8b10f916 SUMMARY: A) Game and Web 3 Development - Due to the popularity of the holiday game mode we will be extending this until February 1st which is after Chinese New Year - There are a number of areas that the development team will focus on fixing in the coming weeks, some of these we have worked on in the past but we will be making a bigger effort on the: 1) Improving new player experience (higher win rate + tutorial) 2) Improving the feedback from gameplay, further minimizing the latency and delay between pressing a button and the act being carried out - Starting with the forging page, we are working to make each of the game mechanics pages mobile compatible. While we are at it, we will also be spending some time on testing with some of the mainstream mobile crypto wallet apps to ensure that our dApps are compatible with them. We are also working to make the dashboard more mobile friendly as well B) Business Development & Marketing - The team is aware of some of the issues and frustrations experienced right now, namely in regards to GCOIN, key shards and DAU. We understand and we believe there are two solutions to this 1) continue improving new player experience - which is something constantly being worked on and i think the fact that the last team that won the tournament all used P2E weapons shows increasingly competitiveness of F2P weapons and 2) introduce a new way of playing a game to attract more players who will play the game for enjoyment and not monetary return which is where Battle Royale comes in - With Battle Royale we are hoping to shift the focus of GFC being just a play-to-earn game to a game where it is fun to play which is play-to-owe, we believe shifting our positioning and changing the reason people play GFC is the first step in solving most of these issues - These last 2 weeks we continue to experiment with a number of community building platforms and initiatives including using Crew, Galxe and Link3 as well as continuing to operate our NFTimpact program. Further announcements will be made once our campaigns have been set up on these platforms - We are heavily focusing on social proof marketing (mentioned above) and partnership marketing simply because we believe it is the most effective ways of marketing at our disposal, especially given the fact that we are a game that thrives on the cross-IP aspect - Another reason we have focused on the above instead of paid ads is because traditional paid advertising for user acquisition does not work well for web3 yet and each user can cost up to $400+ per user. Dev Blog #37 is out! - https://galaxyfightclub.medium.com/dev-blog-37-a8f1a4b9480f SUMMARY: A) Game and Web 3 Development - We made a number of changes which were directly requested by the community, these include adding new maps, adding a loadout background, nerfing Hammer of Gods and others  - Added two new weapons as well as reworked and balanced a number of existing weapons, the full notes are detailed below  - On the web3 side, the team has been testing a number of features already released including phase 1 of the new dashboard, they are also working on a number of new features that will be released in the coming weeks including new forging logic that reduces weapon ingredients from 4 to 2 and new Gen 2 training logic  B) Business Development & Marketing - With everything that is going on in the markets, we would just like to say that GFC did not hold any funds on FTX or had any exposure to FTT, we are not affected by the market turbulence and have ample runway (12+ months) to continue building into 2023 - On the marketing side GFC has entered into the second stage of the series of events as part of our Cross-IP Championship, the community qualifying tournaments will be starting in full force soon  - We are very excited to announce that we will be part of the 'Round Table' hosted by Wolf Game on Wednesday, November 16th. Make sure to visit the tweet in the blog and set your reminders; we are also scheduled for another Twitter Spaces with Perion Gaming on November 17th  - GFC hosted our own booth at another two events alongside YGGSEA this month, one of which was the "Crypto Expo" in Bangkok, Thailand - this event alone attracting over 250,000 visitors across 4 days. We hosted some mini-tournaments, made some freebies for visitors and are excited that our booth was overall well attended. C) Community - This week we hired Guru as the new community manager. Guru has been with the GFC community for very long time and we believe that he will be able to do a great job in this position. - Bi-weekly tournaments will resume starting next week once Guru has gotten up to speed on Community manager responsibilities  - We will also focus on a number of new initiatives to improve communication between team and community, for example having more 1 on 1 Doctore and Battlepass holder calls as well as logging community suggestions and questions to provide updates/comments from team - Finally, we are asking looking for your support. The team put in over 2000+ hours into the development for P2E in the last month alone to launch P2E and will continue spending the next 1–2 weeks debugging and refining - We are aware of the number of issues and bugs with P2E, the main issues we will be looking to solve ASAP in the coming days include trophies not accumulating and energy on NFTs not displaying properly, we will provide more clear ETAs on when you can expect these fixes over the next 1–2 days - A lot of it the result of our systems being overwhelmed by traffic and players (a lot of things work when it's just a team of 20 people testing, but start breaking when you have 1000+ people). We will spend the next 1–2 weeks working through all of them. Once P2E is running smoothly we will tweak different parameters such as key fragment drop rates, energy rates and others. - You will be able to redeem your in-game key fragments once we release our P2E dashboard. This is where you can 'exchange' your in-game key fragments for actual on-chain ERC-1155 NFTs. This dashboard will be released once most of the bugs on P2E have been resolved which we expect will take approximately 1 week - If you are having trouble claiming $GCOIN, please try this temporary page https://claim.galaxyfightclub.com/, we will be rebuilding the entire login portal and dashboard after P2E is up and running smoothly - this should get rid of 90% of problems experienced right now in regards to $GCOIN claiming, email changes and others B) Business Development & Marketing - In the run-up to our P2E release we worked with a number of UFC Fighters through our relationship with Vaynersports to promote GFC, we also announced our partnership with the Lost Realms project, who we believe to be one of the most promising web3 gaming teams in the space - driving a significant number of new members into the GFC community as we are featured as one of their premium partners - Our priority over the coming 1–2 weeks will be to iron out any kinks and issues to make sure P2E is running smoothly before we consider scaling rewards and driving more attention to P2E through marketing - This will involve us making use of bigger athletes and influencers, we are also planning to be featured on podcasts as well as activating more cross-marketing initiatives with partners (like the one with Lost Realms), not to mention running qualifiers for partner projects in the run-up to the cross-IP tournament in Q4 this year - Finally we believe the most powerful marketing force we have at our disposal is the community, which is why P2E is so powerful after-all, because it is the perfect incentive for successful word of mouth marketing. We will continue to support this through 1) doing our best to ensure P2E is a success by effectively balancing supply and demand of rewards 2) properly supplying the community with high-quality onboarding content AND incentivizing community marketing efforts through existing programs, such as our Twitter Impact Program C) Community - Last week's 2 ETH bi-weekly had some explosive semifinals! The Way of Zen taking a quick 2–0 lead on TeamPlaySafe. TeamPlaySafe then changed their team composition, which looked to be the right call, coming back to a 2–2 tie only to see the Way of Zen finishing the job in style. Zen was no match for GFI in the finals taking the easy 4–1 win. They had to wait quite some time for their 2nd Tournament win, but they did so in style! - We will also start keeping a tally on discord of which Guild won which tournaments, get them bragging rights! In time we will get a Guild power ranking going
